The One Street Shifter

A bicycle gear shifter that uses just six commonly sourced parts – including a humble bottle cap – and can be produced both locally and globally, sounds like a truly admirable idea to us.

Invented by Sue Knaup of One Street, an international bicycle advocacy organisation based in Arizona, USA, this barebones yet highly functional shifter was designed for simplicity in production and repairability in the field, and can be easily repaired and customised with common parts.
