Ghoda Cycle Project

The Ghoda Cycle Project

The Ghoda Cycle Project was set up by designer Sameer Kulavoor, and the Project presents indian bicycles in artistic form through a series of beautiful illustrations. More than 20,000 bikes are produced every day in India and each is repurposed and customized in intricate detail for the task at hand including dispensing cups of tea, sharpening knives, transporting children to school, selling ice cream, and delivering office lunches. Kulavoor’s illustrations capture the essence of India, seen and expressed through human-powered commerce. They capture the details: the flip-flops, the adverts, the fabrics, the attire and even the mannerisms of the riders.
