Afghan Cycles

The development of a national Women’s Cycling Team is perhaps not the first thing that comes to mind when you think of Afghanistan. Indeed, the story behind its formation – led by Afghanistan’s most famous cyclist, Abdul Seddiqi – reflects the very challenges faced in shifting public perception of women’s roles in Afghan society. That is what’s recounted in the inspirational documentary film Afghan Cycles.
